Revealing the truth about Healing to the Jamaican churches
Identifying the Facts
The bible says, in
John 10:10 ‘The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly..’
All humans born and who existed after the fall of Adam and Eve into sin, have been subjected to the curse of sin. That is, death, sickness and oppression of our mortal flesh. This was not the original intent of Yahweh when He made us. His intent was for us to live in paradise with all our needs provided for. His intent was for us to live happily and enjoy the relationships we developed with our chosen mates and children. His intent was for us to live a life without sin.
Fact #1 – The Thief, comes to kill and destroy
Lucifer interfered with the original plan for our existence and as such, we just like him are fallen from our intended spiritual and natural state in God. John 10:10 clearly highlights his role on earth and his intent towards human kind. The devil comes to steal, kill and destroy by any means necessary.
The Devil’s plan for man
The first part of his plan was executed masterfully. We will all die. How we die is the second aspect of his plan. We will either die violently or through sickness. Sickness is the weapon wielded by the spirit of infirmity; a stronghold.
Some of us have generational curses carried through the family line, which propagates a certain kind of sickness spirit. Some of us, because of the bad habits and yielding to certain temptations, like excess and indulgences in drugs, alcohol, food and cigarettes, we eventually become sick and die.
That right there, is how the devil steals our lives and destroys our future. He also destroys our destiny; that is, what we were ultimately put on this earth to do.
God’s Plan for man
Nonetheless, God has always got a plan of rescue, for each and every one of us, as individuals.
- The first aspect of His plan is salvation. We must believe upon Jesus Christ. We must acknowledge him as Lord and Savior. We must be baptized in Jesus name.
- Another aspect of His plan, is that we submit to His standards and live a righteous life and a God ordered life.
- We must obey His laws and precepts, which He has set down for us and not sin. If we sin, we must seek forgiveness. He does not wield condemnation over us, therefore, once we approach with a broken and contrite heart. We and He must move on.
- We must also maintain a relationship with him. That means that we daily communicate, come into his presence and seek him.
This is Jehovah’s intent for us. To live as true Christians. If we maintain this type of living, there will always be an atmosphere that freely allows the manifestations of the gifts of the spirit. Healing will also manifest. The Holy Spirit will demonstrates God’s sovereign power in our midst.
Apart of this is to meditate on ‘healing scriptures‘. John 10:10 can be interpreted to focus on God’s desire for our Healing.
‘The Thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy (sickness is stealing, killing and destroying). Jesus came that I may have and enjoy life (health), and have it in abundance (‘to the full, till it overflows).
*****
It is only by the direction of the Holy Spirit that I can write this. There is a need to clarify every misunderstanding about Healing in my country, Jamaica and in Jamaican churches. The information that I will present is not of myself; it is completely from the Holy Spirit. I am not a theologian scholar and though I am a writer, I am simply a willing and available vessel for His purposes. I am completely sold out to God in this process.
