The Poet’s Prayer: Prayer of Consistent Praise

Prayer of Consistent Praise

Oh Mighty One, I bid you to hear

I want to tell You all the things, I long for you to hear;

Season to season

Year to Year

On the good and very worst of days;

Living in the minutes or wasting the hours

No other God can wield your everlasting power;

In and out and about the minutes

I live to worship You in every minute;

Time and day and dates and years

You oh Lord I consistently praise;

With my first breath in the morning

With my last yawn at night

If I sneeze when it’s cold

Or cough from illness’s bite;

No matter the time

No matter the day

No matter the reason

No matter if I fail;

Time and day and dates and years

You oh Lord I consistently praise;

All I have

All I give

All I conquered

All to you I give;

You break my debts

Even when the rent is due

You oh Lord cleared my bills

My heart beats for you;

In and out and about the minutes

I live to worship You in every minute;

Time and day and dates and years

You oh Lord I consistently praise;

My life, I commit as it is Yours
You catch my tears, heal my scars;

You build me up and lower me down

To walk the earth and change every frown

Your power You give to me

You command my days

So help me Lord to consistently praise

So help me Lord to consistently praise
You oh Lord I consistently praise

In the name of Jesus Christ

The King of kings

All we do in Your matchless name.

Amen.
