This past week has been a confirmation of the work I have been doing; that is writing. I was finally able to order paperback copies of my books and have them shipped to Jamaica. God led me to take them, my books to work and share what I have been doing with my coworkers. The response was a novelty to me.
People were requesting copies and encouraging me. Several, didn’t even utter a kind word; but God knows their heart and He revealed little secrets and lessons of note. Those who I was friendly with didn’t show an interest in purchasing copies. Those in elevated positions who should be the first to encourage, didn’t even say a word. My suspicions about their motives, by this, was confirmed. God has been pointing out my enemies; those who would see me removed, one by one. Those who I never expected, ordered copies and were proud of me. Those who had the nice ‘hypocrite’ personalities, lied and said they would order copies online. You can also tell a lot about a person, by the book they select to buy or decide to glance through.
The President was the most proud, astonished and encouraging. He asked many questions, shared ideas, related with his own desires to write and made me feel two towers tall. I was thankful for the experience.
I have been writing continuously for over a decade. I have been writing with the intent to publish manuscripts for five years and I have been hotly pursuing my goal to publish one book each month, since the beginning of 2015. It took me more than five years to even publicly share my work and many more after that to feel comfortable in my skill. God had a plan though. He is the one to give me the words, the ideas, everything.
In 2014, I wanted to publish a book a month, but sickness robbed my focus. In 2015, while recovering from surgery, I begun to execute that promise. I haven’t faltered since I started. I have doubled up. God has even given me more book ideas. When I will publish those, only He knows.
I am invigorated and ready to continue my writing.
Proverbs 3:5-6, New International Version (NIV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart
and lean not on your own understanding;
6 in all your ways submit to him,
and he will make your paths straight.
