I hear myself humming a worship song, ‘Overflow’. It’s 1:00 a.m. and though I lie here trying to sleep, my spirit has other ideas.

‘You provide the fire
I’ll provide the sacrifice
You provide the spirit
And I will open up inside’

Without any conscious effort, I am in a worship session. This is not uncommon for me, as it is a signal that the Holy Spirit seeks to commune and communicate with my spirit. Sometimes when I wake, I hear myself singing humming or internally singing a worship song.

It happened 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning as well. After working into the wee hours of the morning I decided to finish watching a film, rather than just relax and let the Holy Spirit have His time. Yes, it was disobedience, not greatly intended but disobedience nonetheless. Thank God mercy came running like a prisoner set free. And the Holy Spirit downloaded God’s instructions.

I find that no matter if I have busied myself with work, during the days, and don’t give God his due time, He waits for me at the end of my day. (I pray I get better at making time in the appointed moments).

However, it is important for children of God to understand that Jehovah is always speaking to us. It is just that we are in a state of busyness – separate from Him – like in a fog and we do not hear Him.

Never get so busy that you do not make time for God. Daniel is a great example of a man who sought the Almighty, morning, noon and night.

Literally.

Hence why they tried to kill Him.

Constantly being in God’s presence is akin to staying under the shadow of the Almighty.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.-Psalm 91:1 (KJV)

The presence of God comes with divine protection, revelation of secrets and knowledge of what is happening. God speaks to you as a friend, as a child.

Giving instructions and guidance.

Yes, the wee hours of the morning are the best times to commune with God; because it is so peaceful. Everyone is resting and there and there are no distractions.

However, even just 5 to 15 minutes with God will make the difference of whether you are are prepared to deal with the ‘arrows that

I pray you too will seek Him more, like Daniel, in Jesus name amen.

  1. I believe what you said is right on, and the truth. I find myself praying before I get up lately. I don’t know how long it goes. I might sleep some, but there are times when sleep is gone, and I am wide awake, praying. I believe there is a need when this happens. I don’t know what it is, but I pray on, because when the Holy Spirit prays through you, he is praying what I don’t know to pray. I believe wisdom is to pray, even if it is early in the morning. You may be changing things as you pray. Pictures may come, but lately I don’t go by what I see. I keep praying, trusting, and resting in His promises. God bless.

    1. I experience the same thing. yes, this is definitely an example of God using a yielded spirit.

    2. It is the one thing that I can do…pray. The gifts and callings of the Lord are not revocable. In fact, they are there and set in place long before you realize. I believe Salvation is a time, and day that you gave your heart, mind, body, and soul to God. It was a forever decision when I was eleven, or twelve. I remember what I did, but not the year. It was my choice, and the decision was before me. I told none, because I am a preacher’s child. I wanted to make the decision , even if it took time. I came to realize that God was inside me, that I was His child forever. The need to affirm this was there, and I did. John 3:16 is a wonderful verse. I put my name in the whosoever. I put it there until I had peace come over me. I was through battling. I knew He came inside me. I gave my life to Him, and I know where I will go if I die. That is peace, joy, and love that comes from His throne to all of us, but those who choose Him will live for Him, and not look back. God bless. I don’t mean to be verbose.

    3. Amen, I too was saved about the same age. He deals with children differently I think. It is a more pure experience. He develops the person you become as an adult, and i wouldn’t have it any other way.

    4. Submission is daily. I believe reading the Word, and praying are two keys that need to be used daily. I study, but I don’t teach. If I feel led, I share on my blog. I believe the callings and gifts of the Holy Spirit are not revocable. They are still there, even when you aren’t as active. We have Spiritual warfare to be aware of. I believe a sudden change in personality of someone means we need to watch, pray, and discern. Rebuke the devil and he will flee. If nothing happens, call on the angels of the Lord to assist. This is my thought for today.
