I hear myself humming a worship song, ‘Overflow’. It’s 1:00 a.m. and though I lie here trying to sleep, my spirit has other ideas.
‘You provide the fire
I’ll provide the sacrifice
You provide the spirit
And I will open up inside’
Without any conscious effort, I am in a worship session. This is not uncommon for me, as it is a signal that the Holy Spirit seeks to commune and communicate with my spirit. Sometimes when I wake, I hear myself singing humming or internally singing a worship song.
It happened 2:00 a.m. yesterday morning as well. After working into the wee hours of the morning I decided to finish watching a film, rather than just relax and let the Holy Spirit have His time. Yes, it was disobedience, not greatly intended but disobedience nonetheless. Thank God mercy came running like a prisoner set free. And the Holy Spirit downloaded God’s instructions.
I find that no matter if I have busied myself with work, during the days, and don’t give God his due time, He waits for me at the end of my day. (I pray I get better at making time in the appointed moments).
However, it is important for children of God to understand that Jehovah is always speaking to us. It is just that we are in a state of busyness – separate from Him – like in a fog and we do not hear Him.
Never get so busy that you do not make time for God. Daniel is a great example of a man who sought the Almighty, morning, noon and night.
Literally.
Hence why they tried to kill Him.
Constantly being in God’s presence is akin to staying under the shadow of the Almighty.
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.-Psalm 91:1 (KJV)
The presence of God comes with divine protection, revelation of secrets and knowledge of what is happening. God speaks to you as a friend, as a child.
Giving instructions and guidance.
Yes, the wee hours of the morning are the best times to commune with God; because it is so peaceful. Everyone is resting and there and there are no distractions.
However, even just 5 to 15 minutes with God will make the difference of whether you are are prepared to deal with the ‘arrows that
I pray you too will seek Him more, like Daniel, in Jesus name amen.
