Suicide and Death
Death is a stronghold. The spirit of suicide works with the spirit of death. It is important that we understand, appreciate, and respect the fact that demons are highly efficient when applying teamwork.
Death is an intelligent and experienced mercenary.
It caused Cain to kill his brother Abel. It causes nations to turn against each other and declare war. It causes a son to turn against his father. It causes a mother to throw her child in a sewer pit, leaving it to die. This spirit will join forces with any other demonic spirit; oftentimes it works with depression, suicide, murder, guilt, shame, fear, bondage and the lying or python spirits to overwhelm the victim.
Deep seated emotional, psychological, or mental scars can lead to suicide.
Spirit of Suicide
The spirit of suicide worked with the spirit of fear, insanity, and fear. They pushed him towards death. He became consumed and suicide presented itself as an attractive alternative to living a life with constant heartache.
In Jamaica, we have a saying that ‘sticks and stones will break my bones, but words will never hurt me’. That is a fallacy, a misleading notion, an erroneous belief; it is a lie from the pit of hell. Because for this young man, the words or rather curse spoken by his ex-girlfriend, to go kill himself, caused his destruction.
On the Word, was the foundation of this world built.
The Word became flesh and sacrificed himself for our sins. Our words are orders; they are executed, good or bad, in the spiritual realm. The words of a wife can lift a husband’s spirit. The words from a daughter ensure a father’s devotion for eternity. The hate filled words from someone you love can be devastating.
Words may not cause bodily injury, but they can leave scars.
These entrench themselves in your heart, your mind, or your soul; they plague you for days, weeks, years and in some instances your entire lives. Uttered words are active and alive in the spiritual realm.
What happens after Death
Humans compose of body, soul, and spirit. The body is the flesh, the outward part (Genesis 2:7; Job 4:19). A man’s soul is his mind, his will, and emotions. It is our consciousness that connects us to the physical world. It gives us a personality.
The soul makes each of us unique.
The spirit of man is the innermost part. It knows everything about the man (1 Corinthians 2:11; Proverbs 20:27). The spirit of man connects him to the spirit realm. It is through our spirit that we communicate with God. ‘God is spirit [the Source of life, yet invisible to mankind], and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.’ (John 4:24, AMP).
When we die our spirit is freed from its shell (the body) and starts interacting with the spirit world. The soul allows the spirit to remain unique.
However, the body goes back to the ground (Ecclesiastes 12:7; Luke 23:46; Acts 7:59; Psalms 146:4; Ecclesiastes 3:20-21) where it rests until the resurrection of the dead on the day of judgement (Matthew 25:31-46; 2 Corinthians 5:1-2; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-16; Daniel 12:2).
But what happens to our spirit?
The bible states that the righteous will ascend to heaven while the unrighteous will go down into hell (2 Corinthians 5:6-8,10-11; Romans 10:6-7; Luke 16:19-27; Luke 23:43). There is no longer a connection with the physical world.
Those that have ascended to heaven are unaware of what is happening on earth, as it pertains to our physical lives. However, they are aware of our Christian walk. Hebrews 12:1-2a, AMP tells us, ‘Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses [who by faith have testified to the truth of God’s absolute faithfulness], stripping off every unnecessary weight and the sin which so easily and cleverly entangles us, let us run with endurance and active persistence the race that is set before us, [looking away from all that will distract us and] focusing our eyes on Jesus, who is the Author and Perfecter of faith [the first incentive for our belief and the One who brings our faith to maturity]’.
They are cheering us on in our race. Note that there is no indication that they are communicating with us. It only makes it clear that they are rejoicing about our progress.
Our death is a means of transitioning from the physical realm, into the spiritual realm. The lives we lead, how we treat others, whether we accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour dictates where we end up. We must choose wisely.

PRAYER
Lord, I submit my mind, my body, my spirit, my soul, and everything that I am to the will of the Holy Spirit. Heavenly Father, I give over my will freely to you, for the accomplishment of your purpose and so that your will can be done on the earth.
Lord, I am guilty. I have sinned and come short of the glory of God. I am not worthy of your mercy. But thank you for the sacrifice and shed blood of Jesus Christ who has redeemed my sins.
I bow to you Great Eternal King and Lord and I humbly come into your presence. Everything that I am or ever hope to be is in you. Lord, you are the Faithful God whom I will serve forever.
I pledge to obey your perfect will. I pledge to yield to your call. Help me to be obedient and allow your will to work in my life and the life of my family and children.
Come now, Lord. Let thy will be done and your power and your glory reign forevermore. In Jesus’ mighty name, I pray, amen.
