Testimony Thursday: God’s Sweet Surprise

Today, I am overflowing with gratitude as I share with you a testimony that has left me utterly amazed by the goodness of our Lord. It’s Testimony Thursday, and I cannot wait to reveal how God’s hand worked in my life in the most unexpected and delightful way.

This heartwarming encounter at the supermarket reminds us of God’s constant presence and love for His children. Let’s dive into this incredible story of favor and blessings!

A Divine Encounter at the Supermarket

As evening descended, I found myself at the supermarket with a few items on my list. A 3lb bag of rice, a 2lb bag of cornmeal, and a bag of cornbread were among the items I picked up. Little did I know that this seemingly ordinary trip to the cashier would soon turn into a remarkable display of God’s favor.

As I engaged in conversation with the cashier, I casually asked her to check the price of the rice since I only had $1000 on me. To my surprise, just as she was about to do so, a kind-hearted gentleman who was cashing out at the adjacent counter stepped forward and intervened. He insisted that the cashier should not check the price but instead cash out all my items. I stood there in awe, my mouth wide open and my eyes filled with wonder. How amazing is our God, who orchestrates such moments of divine favor!

The Sacrificial Offering

To better appreciate this beautiful turn of events, I must rewind to a street service I attended the previous evening. The service was electric with God’s presence, and when the Man of God asked for offerings to be lifted up, I felt compelled to give.

Initially planning to offer $500, I suddenly heard a clear message from the depths of my heart urging me to give $1000 instead. Without hesitation, I obeyed the prompting and substituted the $500 with the larger amount. Though it may have seemed like a substantial sacrifice, I knew it was essential to give my best gift to the Lord.

Trusting in God’s Plan

Reflecting on that sacrificial offering, I asked God to use it for His glory and anticipated that something extraordinary would happen. Little did I know that my act of obedience would pave the way for a mind-blowing testimony, demonstrating God’s love and providence in my life.

The Joyful Revelation

After the generous gentleman paid for all my purchases, I couldn’t contain my joy and began praising God, lifting my hands in thanksgiving. The encounter filled me with a sense of joy that touched the depths of my soul. Leaving the kind stranger to complete his shopping, I expressed my gratitude and God’s blessings upon him.

A Divine Appointment

But God’s plan for this remarkable day did not end there. As I walked on, praising His name, I encountered a couple and spontaneously shared the awe-inspiring incident with them. Unbeknownst to me, God had arranged this divine appointment for a specific purpose.

A Backslider’s Redemption

The lady revealed that she was a backslider, someone who had drifted away from her faith. At that moment, I sensed God’s love and compassion surging through me, and I assured her that God’s love knows no bounds.

I spoke words of encouragement, affirming that she possessed a warrior spirit and a unique, powerful gift waiting to be unleashed. She shared that her boyfriend had guided them to this very spot, unaware of the divine plan that awaited them.

God’s Perfect Timing

God’s perfect timing had orchestrated this encounter, igniting hope within her heart to return to Christ and attend church on Sunday. As I prayed for their relationship and future marriage, I knew God had something extraordinary in store for this beautiful couple. They were living proof that God’s love reaches out to all, regardless of their past or struggles.

Calling All Backsliders

To any backslider reading this, hear me loud and clear: God’s love for you knows no limits. We all stumble and fall short of God’s glory, but it’s never too late to come back to Him.

Just as I experienced, God can transform your life and wipe away all sins and sorrows. Surrender yourself to His love, and watch Him mend all your brokenness, clearing the path for a brighter future.

1. Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV) – “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

2. Romans 8:31 (NIV) – “What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?”

3. James 4:8 (NIV) – “Come near to God and he will come near to you.”

4. Psalm 34:8 (NIV) – “Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

5. 1 Peter 5:7 (NIV) – “Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.”

Let these verses remind us of God’s unfailing love, His presence in our lives, and His boundless grace. May your heart be encouraged, and may you find hope in the story of God’s sweet surprises.

Conclusion: Come Back Home to God

Dear friends and family, never forget that Jesus loves you, and He cares deeply for you. Don’t stay on the outside looking in; come back home to Christ, and experience the abundant plans He has in store for your life.

Open your heart to His guidance, and you will be amazed at the wondrous blessings He bestows upon those who trust in Him. Let today be the day you choose to return to the loving embrace of our Heavenly Father.
