What did God say about Man and Wife?

Genesis 2:21-25 NLT
So the lord God caused the man to fall into a deep sleep. While the man slept, the lord God took out one of the man’s ribs and closed up the opening. Then the lord God made a woman from the rib, and he brought her to the man. “At last!” the man exclaimed. “This one is bone from my bone, and flesh from my flesh! She will be called ‘woman,’ because she was taken from ‘man.’” This explains why a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife, and the two are united into one.
A Divine Blueprint for Marriage
Genesis 2:21-25 (NLT) unveils the beautiful tapestry of God’s design for marriage – a sacred union between man and woman that reflects His own profound love and unity.
In these verses, we find the origins of this divine institution and the timeless principles that continue to shape the essence of marriage.
The Creation of Woman: A Gift of Unity
The creation of a woman from Adam’s rib is not only a remarkable act of divine craftsmanship but a powerful symbol of unity and purpose. As Adam awakens to the sight of Eve, his exclamation, “At last!” encapsulates the recognition of a kindred spirit, a partner perfectly suited to share life’s journey.
Eve’s very existence as “bone of my bone, flesh of my flesh” underscores the intimacy and oneness that God intended for marriage. Their connection was not merely physical, but spiritual and emotional, forming a bond that would serve as the foundation of all marriages to come.
Leaving and Cleaving: A Sacred Covenant
In the verses that follow, a profound principle emerges – the concept of leaving and cleaving. God’s declaration that “a man leaves his father and mother and is joined to his wife” marks a new season of life, a shift from the primary family unit to the formation of a new family unit through marriage.
This principle carries layers of meaning. It speaks to the importance of prioritizing the marriage relationship, nurturing it as a sacred covenant. It also emphasizes the unity and commitment required in this partnership. The phrase “the two are united into one” conveys a profound sense of fusion – two distinct individuals becoming one in purpose and heart.
Lessons for Today: A Blueprint for Lasting Love
The principles laid out in Genesis 2:21-25 stand as a timeless blueprint for marriage. In a world marked by shifting values, God’s design offers an unchanging foundation for lasting love and unity. It beckons couples to prioritize their union, to view each other as partners of the soul, and to embrace the sacred journey of leaving, cleaving, and becoming one.
Ephesians 5:31-32 (NKJV) beautifully echoes this sentiment, proclaiming, “For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh. This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
An Echo of Divine Love
Genesis 2:21-25 resounds with the echo of God’s divine love and purpose for marriage. As we delve into these verses, let us be reminded of the sacred bond between man and wife – a bond that reflects the unity and love within the Godhead itself. May this blueprint guide us to cherish, nurture, and honor the marriage covenant, embracing the beauty of leaving, cleaving, and becoming one in heart, spirit, and purpose.
Word:
No matter the argument, no matter the debate; from the foundation of the world, God has established a natural order. Anything else suggested, coerced, or forcibly employed does not stand, is not right; it is contrary to the natural order.
It is against everything and how God said that it should be.
Do not be deceived
…as many shall be in these times. Now is a time when we are seeing leaders and congregations accept and support a lie. It is a pity.
So, stand fast. Stand firm. Do not bow. Do not renege on your place in Christ. If it costs you your head, it will gain you an eternity with God.
Yeshua is God. Yeshua is King. Yeshua is I Am. No one can deny that and ALL will confirm and acknowledge that eventually. If not now, in this life, then at the judgment seat. His will must be, it must be, it must be.
All hail the power of Jesus our risen Christ, Our Saviour, Our God.
