Be Encouraged: Wherever God is Building You
By: Colline Goulbourne, Evangelizing Servant of God

I must share this; someone needs to hear it. Yesterday, as someone shared their situation with me, God’s words echoed in my ears, a message He wanted to convey through me: “Wherever God places you on your journey of Purpose, He is building you.”
These were His exact words.
I found encouragement in this message, and it felt both profound and true.
God is speaking to you, to you, and to you. Wherever He positions you, He is molding you in His image. He is instilling character in you. The placement might not be where you’d like to be. It might be uncomfortable and, at times, frustrating. Yet, if God didn’t allow situations in our lives, we wouldn’t fathom the strength within us that He can unleash.
This placement illustrates the power within you. It demonstrates the might of the name of Jesus when you call upon Him. It shows us what prayers can achieve. It serves for healing, teaching, correction, deliverance, and protection amidst the battles you’re facing. The placement is preparing us for greatness in Him alone, building a ministry within us, and transforming us into prayer warriors.
This process brings changes as you navigate your journey of Purpose. It makes all the difference, fostering humility, obedience to God Almighty, and patience while waiting for His intervention. The placement teaches us to be still and allow God’s plans to manifest through us. It happens when we Let Go and Let God, trusting Him through the process of these placements in our lives.
Relevant Bible Verses for Study (NKJV):
-
Ecclesiastes 9:11 – “I returned and saw under the sun that—The race is not to the swift, Nor the battle to the strong, Nor bread to the wise, Nor riches to men of understanding, Nor favor to men of skill; But time and chance happen to them all.”
-
Philippians 3:14 – “I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
-
Hebrews 12:1-3 – “Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. For consider Him who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls.”
-
Proverbs 24:16 – “For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again, But the wicked shall fall by calamity.”
-
Romans 8:37 – “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.”
-
Psalm 37:23-24 – “The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord, And He delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down; For the Lord upholds him with His hand.”
-
Isaiah 41:10 – “Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.”
-
1 Corinthians 9:24-27 – “Do you not know that those who run in a race all run, but one receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it. And everyone who competes for the prize is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a perishable crown, but we for an imperishable crown.”
-
2 Timothy 4:7-8 – “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing.”
-
James 1:12 – “Blessed is the man who endures temptation; for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.”
Be encouraged, knowing that wherever God positions us, He has a plan. His plans are for prosperity, not harm. His intentions in our placement situations are all for His glory. A related testimony, Finding Purpose in Life’s Challenges, continues this theme of God using difficult seasons for His purpose.
Be encouraged and be blessed.
