Sunday Sermon: How to Command Your Morning for a Walk in Divine Will
by Minister Denise N. Fyffe
Good morning! Today, I want to share with you a personal revelation about the power of letting God command your morning. Over the past year, my spiritual journey has taken on a new depth, focusing daily on surrendering to God’s will from the very start of each day. This practice has blessed, renewed, and matured my spirit, mind, and soul in ways I could have never imagined.
My Testimony of Obedience and Blessing
Just this morning, something remarkable happened. I was running a bit late for work and decided to take a different route than usual. Normally, I’d be frustrated by the delay, but today, I chose to use the extra minutes to engage in worship right in my car—my traveling prayer room.
As I drove, I felt led to take a road I usually avoid in the mornings, hoping maybe to offer a lift to a specific coworker. She wasn’t there, but instead, I encountered another coworker unexpectedly. He was just as surprised to see me as I was to see him, especially since we were both running late.
“Devon, what you doing ’round here? Yuh nuh see God provide a ride for yuh?” I exclaimed.
He laughed and agreed, sharing that he almost took a taxi going in a different direction. But here we were, brought together, just in time to make it to work. This wasn’t coincidence; it was divine orchestration.
“God is an on-time God, yes He is!”
The Faithfulness of God in the Little Things
Time and again, God has prompted me to be generous towards Devon. Whether it’s sharing a meal or a cup of coffee I wouldn’t drink myself, each act of kindness was directed by the Lord. These small gestures remind me—and I hope they remind you—that God is intimately involved in our lives. He orchestrates our steps and meets our needs, often in ways we least expect.
Scriptural Foundation
Proverbs 3:5-6 (KJV) holds a special promise for those who trust in God’s direction:
“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”
Conclusion
Every morning is an opportunity to let God take the lead. When we allow Him to command our day, we open ourselves to His guidance, provision, and protection. We are reminded that our blessings are not just for us but can also be a blessing to others, often orchestrated without our knowledge.
I encourage you, as you start each day, to dedicate your first moments to God. Ask Him to command your morning and direct your paths. Whether it’s in the quiet of your home or the solitude of a morning commute, let your car become your prayer room, your kitchen your chapel. Expect God to move in every minute of your day and watch how He transforms the ordinary into the extraordinary.
Let us pray.
Lord, we commit our days into Your hands. Command our mornings, guide our steps, and use us to be messengers of Your love and agents of Your will. We trust You, God, to orchestrate our days, knowing You are always on time. Amen.
I hope you find today’s sermon helpful and applicable to your life. I pray that the Word of God works effectively in your life.
Be encouraged and stay blessed.
The Invitation
I invite you today to take a deep look at yourself and reflect on your life. Are you searching for something more? Are you satisfied with how things are today? Is God calling you to confess your sins, be baptized and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you been ignoring him? Have you been facing immense hardships and challenges? What can you do to take the first step?
Trust God to help you with that first step.
Be encouraged.
