William Franklin Graham Jr. was born on November 7, 1918, in Charlotte, North Carolina, to a devout Presbyterian family. His upbringing on a dairy farm instilled in him a strong work ethic and a sense of humility that would characterize his life. At the age of 16, Graham attended a revival meeting led by evangelist Mordecai Ham. It was there that he surrendered his life to Christ, an experience that ignited a passion for evangelism.
