Letter From the Prayer Desk: Dear Flo, Overcome Masturbation Diligently with God’s Help
The Battle is Already Won, and the Devil is a defeated Foe
Resist the Devil and He Will Flee
-
Get rid of every trigger. Throw away anything in your environment that is a trigger. Any sex toys, or even a removable shower head.
-
Change your TV show preference. Subscribe to Christian channels, like Angel or TBN – whatever is available to you.
-
Also, get into the Word. Whether through bible study, e-books, Audible or podcasts. Let the word fill your life.
Additional Spiritual Guidance
-
Speak Daily Declarations: I encourage you to speak life over yourself each morning. For example: “I am the righteousness of God in Christ. I walk in purity. I have the mind of Christ. I am free from every bondage.” These declarations help rewire the mind and reinforce spiritual authority.
-
Do Anointing & Sanctification: I also suggest you anoint her living space with oil and pray over it, declaring it holy ground.
-
Buy a fresh bottle of olive oil.
-
Pray Psalms 91, 24, 23, 35, 1, 51 and 100 into it.
-
Anoint your hands and feet and then go through your home and lightly touching and anointing the doorframes, windows and anything that is a trigger – especially the TV or bathroom and bed. This can be a powerful act of spiritual cleansing and boundary-setting.
-
-
Download Apps for Purity: Research Christian apps like Covenant Eyes or Ever Accountable that help monitor online activity and provide accountability.
-
Follow a Structured Fasting Plan: Since you mentioned fasting, try a simple 3-day Daniel fast with focused scriptures and prayer points.
-
If this is difficult start by giving up on a meal for three days, maybe breakfast, and pray earnestly during that time until you can do longer fasts.
-
-
Try Scripture Immersion: I also recommend memorizing key verses like 1 Corinthians 10:13 – “God is faithful; He will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.” and Romans 6:14 – “Sin shall not have dominion over you.”
-
Get an Accountability Partner: If possible, I recommend you find a trusted believer (even virtually) to check in with regularly. Isolation can intensify spiritual battles, and accountability brings light into dark places.
-
Try Journaling: I suggest you write down your prayers, victories, and revelations. This builds a testimony and helps you track spiritual growth.
The Invitation
I invite you today to take a deep look at yourself and reflect on your life. Are you searching for something more? Are you satisfied with how things are today? Is God calling you to confess your sins, be baptized and accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? Have you been ignoring him? Have you been facing immense hardships and challenges? What can you do to take the first step?
Trust God to help you with that first step.
