A Prayer Against Crime and Criminality in Jamaica

After a storm, when nerves are thin and needs are many, the enemy tries to slip in through fear, desperation, and opportunity. Lets pray for Jesus to hedge Jamaica. We will not surrender our island to terror, looting, scamming, robbery, or bloodshed. The same God who calms the wind also restrains evil, exposes hidden works of darkness, and transforms hard hearts.

Let’s pray—fervently, specifically, and in unity—for peace, justice, and holy order across Jamaica.

A Prayer Against Crime and Criminality

Father in Heaven, we come in the mighty name of Jesus Christ—our Prince of Peace, our Strong Tower, our Deliverer. You are the God who says, “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; but you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise” (Isaiah 60:18, NKJV). Speak that promise over Jamaica tonight.

Lord, we enthrone You over this nation. The earth is Yours and all its fullness (Psalm 24:1, NKJV). You rule in righteousness; justice and mercy are the foundation of Your throne (Psalm 89:14, NKJV). We declare Jesus is Lord over our parishes, townships, lanes, hills, inner cities, and coasts.

We repent and return. Where we’ve tolerated corruption, celebrated lawlessness, or grown numb to bloodshed—Lord, forgive us. “If My people… will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear… forgive… and heal their land” (2 Chronicles 7:14, NKJV). Heal our land, O God.

We resist the thief. Your Word says, “The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy” (John 10:10, NKJV). In Jesus’ name we resist the spirit behind robbery, looting, extortion, scamming, gun violence, domestic violence, human trafficking, and predatory exploitation. We command every plan of violence and intimidation to fall to the ground null and void (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV). No weapon formed against Jamaica shall prosper.

Expose hidden works of darkness. You are the God who “reveals deep and secret things” (Daniel 2:22, NKJV). Let plots be uncovered before they hatch; let weapons caches be found; let kidnappings, robberies, and fraud rings be dismantled. “For nothing is secret that will not be revealed, nor anything hidden that will not be known and come to light” (Luke 8:17, NKJV). Give credible tips to the right officers; let evidence be preserved; let witnesses be protected.

Place a hedge around the vulnerable. We plead the blood of Jesus over shelters, distribution points, schools, clinics, pharmacies, churches, and the homes of the elderly and single parents (Exodus 12:13; Psalm 91, NKJV). Assign angels to guard and deliver (Psalm 34:7, NKJV). Protect power crews, water teams, road workers, volunteers, and drivers from ambush, assault, and theft.

Strengthen righteous authority. Your Word teaches that “rulers are not a terror to good works, but to evil” (Romans 13:3, NKJV). Anoint the JCF and JDF with wisdom, courage, restraint, and integrity. Break the power of bribery, extortion, and brutality. Give commanders just strategies; give frontline officers protection and presence of mind. Let patrols be rightly placed; let response be swift; let prosecutions be fair and effective. “He loves righteousness and justice; the earth is full of the goodness of the Lord” (Psalm 33:5, NKJV).

Purify our justice gates. Cleanse our courts, case files, and dockets. Remove confusion and delay; frustrate legal loopholes that shield violent offenders. Grant prosecutors clarity, defense counsel integrity, and judges courage to uphold the law impartially (Deuteronomy 16:19; Proverbs 17:23, NKJV). Let just weights and balances guide procurement and policing alike (Proverbs 11:1, NKJV).

Quiet the streets and the homes. We bind retaliatory murder, gang reprisals, and domestic abuse in Jesus’ name. “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” (Matthew 5:9, NKJV). Raise peacemakers in every community—pastors, teachers, youth leaders, elders—voices that de-escalate tension and redirect young men from the path of destruction (Proverbs 1:10–19, NKJV).

Deliver those trapped in crime. Lord, Your arm is not too short to save (Isaiah 59:1, NKJV). Call gang leaders like Saul on the road—arrest them by grace and turn persecutors into preachers (Acts 9, NKJV). Let Zacchaeus-level repentance fall—“If I have taken anything… I restore fourfold” (Luke 19:8–9, NKJV). For those who steal, teach them to “steal no longer… but rather let him labor… that he may have something to give to him who has need” (Ephesians 4:28, NKJV). Swap blood money for honest trade; swap scamming scripts for skill training; swap guns for tools and textbooks.

Guard our economy from predation. Shield small businesses, corner shops, markets, farms, and transport operators from shakedowns and theft. Break the back of price gouging and food hoarding (Proverbs 22:22–23, NKJV). Let fair scales return to commerce and compassion to consciences.

Blanket our island with peace. We speak shalom over intersection and lane, courthouse and cell block, wharf and warehouse, school gate, and clinic queue. “The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace” (Psalm 29:11, NKJV). Let sirens decrease and praises increase. Replace gunfire with gospel; replace panic with prayer.

Empower the Church to stand in the gap. Make every congregation a lighthouse: counseling, mentorship, after-school programs, job referrals, conflict mediation, and prayer watches (Isaiah 58:6–12, NKJV). Give us boldness to preach repentance and reconciliation, and tenderness to walk with the wounded. Teach us to disciple young men and women away from the culture of quick money into the call of kingdom purpose.

Cover our children. Keep them from recruitment, grooming, and abuse. “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7, NKJV). Guard schoolyards, bus stops, and online spaces. Let teachers be gatekeepers and principals watchmen upon the walls (Isaiah 62:6, NKJV).

Release a spirit of conviction and holy fear. Let consciences awaken at the point of decision—let hands tremble before mischief; let feet turn back from the ambush; let a still, small voice say, “This is the way, walk in it” (Isaiah 30:21, NKJV). Plant the terror of the Lord in every heart poised to harm (2 Corinthians 5:11, NKJV).

Declarations over Jamaica

• We declare Isaiah 60:18 over our island: No more violence, wasting, or destruction within our borders; our walls Salvation, our gates Praise (NKJV).

• We declare Psalm 91 over our people: No evil shall befall us, nor shall any plague come near our dwelling; He shall give His angels charge over us (NKJV).

• We declare Jeremiah 1:19: They will fight against us, but they shall not prevail; for the Lord is with us to deliver us (NKJV).

• We declare Micah 6:8 as our ethic: To do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with our God (NKJV).

Thank You, Father, for the peace that surpasses understanding (Philippians 4:7, NKJV), for the authority of Jesus’ name (Philippians 2:9–11, NKJV), and for the power of the Holy Spirit to restrain evil and transform lives. We believe to see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living (Psalm 27:13, NKJV).

Turn criminals into carpenters, scammers into stewards, and gunmen into gospel-bearers—for Your glory and Jamaica’s good.

We seal this prayer in the blood of Jesus, with gratitude and faith. Amen and Amen.
