Letter From the Prayer Desk: Dear Sa., Seek the Holy Spirit Encounter for Your Husband

Revealing The Christian Life banner 1

Grace and peace to you, Sa.,

Thank you for sharing your heart. I hear the weight of what you’re carrying, and I honor your love for your husband and your desire to see him walk in the truth. Coming up against spiritual strongholds is not easy—it often takes a season of focused prayer and fasting. But be encouraged: the Lord is near, and He responds to the cry of a praying wife (1 Peter 3:1–2, NKJV).

Seek the Holy Spirit Encounter for Your Husband

Ask the Father to let your husband encounter the Holy Spirit like Saul encountered Jesus on the road to Damascus—an undeniable arrest of the heart that brings conviction and transformation (Acts 9:3–6, NKJV). Pray that “scales” fall from his eyes (Acts 9:18), that any mixture of truth and ancestral practice is broken, and that he comes into a personal, saving relationship with Jesus Christ alone (John 14:6).

Remember Jesus’ words: “This kind can come out by nothing but prayer and fasting” (Mark 9:29, NKJV). Keep sowing the seeds of prayer—they will surely bear fruit in due season (Galatians 6:9). Your intercession matters more than you know.

A simple plan to undergird your prayers:

  • Set aside one day each week for a partial fast (break at 3 p.m. or 6 p.m.). During those hours, read Acts 9 and pray specifically for a Damascus-road encounter.

  • Each night, read Psalm 91 aloud over your home. Anoint your doors and speak the Lordship of Jesus over your household.

  • Keep your spirit gentle and your words gracious; let your conduct preach while the Spirit convicts (1 Peter 3:1–2). Avoid strife, keep worship in the atmosphere, and stay anchored in the Word.

A prayer for you and your husband:

“Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift Sa.’s husband before You. Let the light of Christ break through every spiritual blindness. Expose and uproot every mixture and every altar that is not of You. Holy Spirit, convict his heart of truth, righteousness, and judgment (John 16:8). Grant him a Damascus encounter with Jesus; remove the scales, and draw him into a living relationship with You. Fill Sa. with wisdom, peace, and perseverance. Let their home be saturated with Your presence, and let salvation spring forth quickly. In Jesus’ name, amen.”

Declare these short truths as you pray:

  • “As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord” (Joshua 24:15, NKJV).

  • “The Lord opens eyes to see wondrous things from His law” (cf. Psalm 119:18, NKJV).

  • “No weapon formed against our marriage shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17, NKJV).
