THE POET’S PRAYER • PSALM 15
Who May Dwell in God’s Presence?
By Minister Denise N. Fyffe
Psalm 15 turns our attention from what we say we believe to how we actually live. It describes integrity, truthfulness, restraint, justice and faithfulness as marks of a life that honors God.
Read Psalm 15
King James Version (KJV) — full chapter
1. LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?
2. He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.
3. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.
4. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the LORD. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.
5. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
“He who walks uprightly, and works righteousness.” — Psalm 15:2 (NKJV)
Faith Must Shape Character
Spiritual maturity is not measured only by what we know. It is revealed in how we speak, how we treat people, how we handle commitments and whether our private life agrees with our public confession.
A Prayer from Psalm 15
Lord, make my life consistent with my confession. Teach me to speak truth, keep my word, refuse gossip and treat people with justice and dignity.
Let integrity become part of who I am, not merely something I display when others are watching. Help me to live in a way that honors Your presence.
Be encouraged.
