Faith Under Fire: A Message of Encouragement to Our Christian Brothers and Sisters in Ukraine
By: Minister Denise N. Fyffe
To the people of Ukraine—our brothers and sisters in Christ: You are not forgotten.
“The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.”
— Psalm 34:18 (NKJV)
Even as the world turns its attention from headlines and breaking news, heaven is still watching. Heaven still hears your prayers, sees your tears, and counts every act of courage that you show. From the ruins of Mariupol to the bomb shelters in Kharkiv, from the front lines to the refugee shelters—God is with you.
We know this has been one of the hardest chapters in your nation’s history. The pain of war, the loss of homes and loved ones, the uncertainty of tomorrow—it all weighs heavily. But through it all, we have seen something remarkable: your faith has not died. It has grown stronger.
You Are Still Standing—And That Is Victory
“We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed.”
— 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 (NKJV)
Though cities may be torn down, your spirit is not broken. Though you’ve been scattered, your unity in Christ remains. And though the enemy comes with tanks and missiles, you fight with worship, with prayer, and with unshakable trust in God.
You are a testimony to the world that no matter how fierce the battle, the light of Christ cannot be extinguished. Every church service held in a basement, every Bible opened by candlelight, every whispered prayer in the middle of the night—it all shakes the gates of hell.
The Seeds of Revival Are Being Planted
What the enemy meant for evil, God is turning for good. In the soil of sorrow, seeds of revival are being planted. The gospel is being preached in shelters. Strangers are becoming family. Aid is flowing through the hands of believers who give not just bread—but the Bread of Life.
Many of you never imagined being missionaries in your own homeland. Yet here you are—preaching Christ through your perseverance, your compassion, your courage.
Your pain has purpose. Your struggle is not in vain. God is using your witness to awaken hearts around the world.
Stand Firm—You Are Not Alone
“Be strong and of good courage, do not fear nor be afraid of them; for the Lord your God, He is the One who goes with you. He will not leave you nor forsake you.”
— Deuteronomy 31:6 (NKJV)
We know the days are long and the nights are darker than ever. But stand firm.
- The global church is praying for you.
- Heaven is fighting for you.
- And Jesus has already won the victory for you.
There are brothers and sisters across continents lifting up your names in prayer. We may not speak the same language, but our spirits are united in Christ.
We cry with you. We hope with you. We believe with you.
Hold On to the Cross
The cross of Jesus Christ was not a symbol of comfort—it was a symbol of suffering. But it also became the greatest symbol of hope. For out of death came resurrection. Out of pain came purpose. And the same God who raised Jesus from the dead will also raise your families, your churches, and your nation.
So don’t give up.
Don’t lay down your worship.
Don’t stop believing in miracles.
A Prayer for Ukraine
Father in Heaven,
We lift up the people of Ukraine—those who are weary, those who are grieving, those who are holding on by faith. Surround them with Your mighty angels. Protect the innocent. Strengthen the believers. Let hope arise like the dawn.Provide food for the hungry. Shelter for the displaced. Comfort for the brokenhearted. And most of all, peace for their land.
May revival burn even brighter in the face of destruction. May the name of Jesus be lifted high across Ukraine. And may every believer there feel the power of Your presence, even in the fire.
In Jesus’ name we pray,
Amen.
To Our Family in Ukraine
We are with you in spirit. We are for you in prayer. We believe in the destiny of your nation. And we declare this over you:
“The Lord will give strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace.”
