Actions & Events in Dreams
Running, waiting, fighting, hiding, graduating, marrying, working, traveling, searching, losing, finding and other actions can carry more interpretive weight than a single object. Pay attention to what happened, what changed and what remained unresolved.
Questions to Ask
- What was the central action or event?
- Was it completed, interrupted, delayed or repeated?
- Who initiated the action and who resisted or assisted?
- What changed because of the event?
- Does the same action recur across several dreams?
Interpret the action in sequence. What happened before it, what happened afterward, and what did you understand or feel? Repeated actions can become especially useful when recorded in a dream journal over time.

Steward the Dream: Record It
Write the dream or vision down while the details are fresh. Record the date, people, setting, words, symbols, emotions and what happened before and after. Return to your journal prayerfully over time. Patterns, confirmations and later events can deepen understanding, help you recognize how God may be communicating with you, and help you identify the kind of dreamer you are becoming. Do not rely on memory alone.
