Hebrews 12:11 states: “All discipline for the moment seems not to be joyful, but sorrowful; yet to those who have been trained by it, afterwards it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness.”
Pride is one of the most dangerous element to the ministry of the prophet, as such it must be stamped out before it even has a chance to breathe air.
There is no place in a prophets heart for pride; he must give all glory to God. When pride steps in, then it is a great possibility that the prophet becomes a false prophet and as such, a servant of the devil and not God. This is a very dangerous place to be in; for to have known God and then to have fallen, is a tremendous pity.
This is why God will not dispatch His prophet to work until he has schooled him in the School of Humility. With every school, there are many opportunities to be proven through testing and with every school one most pass the test before you are released.
In humility these served:
- Moses
- Elijah
- Daniel
- Joshua
- Gideon
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time. – 1 Peter 5:6
As a prophet in training, I have had a great many opportunity to have to defend myself, and at some point, I have learnt to just keep my mouth shut and let God do His will in His time. God will be my judge and defender in all things. The Lord of Judah has riddled my life with situations that rip any seeds of pride from my heart. I can look back and say, I do not ever wish to relive it. Even now. I am still being refined and I long for the day when I will be as pure gold in His sight.
The refining process makes prophets ready for service; no matter where you are placed, you will serve Him gladly, high or low.
The refining process will also see to it that the prophet is totally dependent on God; it will meld him into a vessel of honour and not dishonour.
Such a vessel will be used and will be developed to be a cornerstone in the Kingdom and any church. One God can be proud of and deem worthy of eternity with Him.
2 Chronicles 7:14 – If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
