33 But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you..-Matthew 6:33 (KJV)
The Mary Mary reality show is both entertaining and revealing. It gives you full access to the Gospel duos lives without restriction. This is the fourth season of the show and all good behaviour has been thrown out the window and the real character of the casts are shining bright for all to see.
I have already addressed the blatant character flaws of Erica’s sister, Tina Campbell in another article; but now I would like to discuss those which are jeopardising the health, family life and spiritual standing of Erica Campbell.

The ‘I need a little more Jesus’ singer has a lovely personality. She is warm, engaging, forgiving, and compassionate. Erica Campbell sacrifices her own needs most of the time, for those of others. She is yielding and doesn’t own the word ‘No’ in her vocabulary; but she should. Erica is learning this season that her sister is not as nice as her and doesn’t truly care about her well-being. Having launched her solo career, Erica Campbell has started to focus on her aspirations; but her sister Tina would have none of that. Not only did she give her sister an unholy warfare in the last season when she made her decision, this season she bullied Erica in doing performance gigs for Mary Mary; so now, Erica is yet again in a place where she is unhappy, disregarded and exhausted.
Erica, you have to learn to say NO. You have to learn that in this case it is OK to focus on you.
For whatever reason, God has placed the desire in her heart to be a solo artist. Her two first records were successful. However, now that she has compromised with her sister, she is back to being tired, frustrated and hugely disappointed. Erica it is ok to do you; especially when the other person doesn’t compromise or put your needs first.
Let’s tackle the character flaw of Ms. Erica that will jeopardise her health and ministry; that

is, her penchant for pushing herself to the point of sickness or total exhaustion. This is not wisdom in action. This is Erica chasing fame and fortune at any cost, and it should not be so.
She has often ignored the wise counsel of her husband and family, when told to slow down.
Her babies are crying on the phone when she calls home, because they miss her and she is gone very often.

Last season, her vocal cords were so messed up to the point of bleeding, because of how busy she was.
Is this how a Christian should operate? No.
Godly wisdom would dictate that she do all things in moderation.
Godly wisdom would dictate that she not offend her husband.
Godly wisdom would dictate that she places her family higher on her priority list and not risk their distress.
But Erica Campbell does not follow Godly wisdom.
Proverbs 3:7 – “Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.”
Ecclesiastes 7:12 – “For wisdom is a defence, and money is a defence: but the excellency of knowledge is, that wisdom giveth life to them that have it.”
James 1:5 , 6 – “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.”
Proverbs 14:8 – “The wisdom of the prudent is to understand his way: but the folly of fools is deceit.”
On another matter….
I have yet to see any episode or a series of episodes where the cast members are attending church. Do they not attend church regularly? Do they not go and feast and be nourished from God’s word?
Hebrews 10:25 – Not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near.
Matthew 18:20 – “For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst.”
Ephesians 4:12 – for the equipping of the saints for the work of service, to the building up of the body of Christ;
If not, are they just simply Gospel artists and not active Christian saints?
James 5:16 – Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.
If they do attend, why is this not broadcast on the show?
Destruction is what lies ahead of Erica’s race towards fame, fortune and earthly favour. Sickness and exhaustion are what will keep her company. A unhappy husband and abandoned children are what will greet her when she returns home, and this should never be.
Peter 3 (NLT)
In the same way, you wives must accept the authority of your husbands. Then, even if some refuse to obey the Good News, your godly lives will speak to them without any words. They will be won over 2 by observing your pure and reverent lives.
3 Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewellery, or beautiful clothes. 4 You should clothe yourselves instead with the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to God.
I pray that God intercede with this beloved woman of God and show her how to balance her ministry and her family and her individual needs.
The songs that she sing are a blessing to God’s people and that is important.
Her efforts to minister and reach souls for Christ are important.
But so too is her soul.
Matthew 16:26 (NLT) – 6 And what do you benefit if you gain the whole world but lose your own soul? Is anything worth more than your soul?
