In Season 1, Episode 1, Comeback of Preachers of LA, viewers are introduced to the cast Clarence McClendon, Deitrick Haddon, Jay Haizlip, Noel Jones, Ron Gibson, Wayne Chaney and their family members.
Though you are bombarded by how lavish a lifestyle they lead, – with flashes of ‘Bentleys, range rovers, huge mansions, stylish suits, and jewelry – you get a glimpse into their ministries and flashes of their churches and congregation. During the season, you will notice that not much time is given to the inner workings and going on, at the various churches. However, more emphasis and exposure is given to the Preachers of LA home life and social activities.
One of the big events that occurred in Season 1, Episode 1, Comeback, was the larger than life gospel concert hosted by Deitrick Haddon. There has been some scandal surrounding Deitrick. He has been off the radar while going through a divorce, having a child out-of-wedlock with Dominique Haddon and he is at the point of restarting his ministry and music career. Without a doubt, the concert was a hit and a blessing.
Bishop Ron Gibson, was even able to bring two known ‘Compton gangsters’ to Christ because of the concert/ministry. He has a passion for sharing the gospel with fellows who are thugs and drug users/pushers, because that is a lifestyle which he once led. During the Preachers of LA season you will see him minister to several of these young and old men; including his own family members.
Clarence McClendon is one of the more well-known of the Preachers of LA cast members. His exposure in the program seems to be minimal. Whether this is on purpose, we can only guess; nonetheless, he is one of the first to create some controversial moments for this show.
Jay Haizlip, Noel Jones and Wayne Chaney are also featured. Jay brings more of a skater and punk rock kind of vibe to the Preachers of LA show. To see him, many would not believe him to be a man of God; but he brings such a peace and humility to the show.
Bishop Noel Jones, who has roots in Jamaica, is portrayed as being a workaholic; the man of God who has devoted his entire existence to 
the ministry and sharing the gospel world-wide. The series shows his issues with ‘girl friend’ Loretta Jones and the progression of their relationship.
Wayne Chaney and his wife add the romantic spice to the cast and this is clear in Season 1, Episode 1 – Comeback.
Before Season 1, Episode 1 ends, you are certain to have formed some opinions, good and bad; nonetheless, I urge you to review this reality series objectively.
Take into consideration the good and the bad. Take into consideration their outreach ministry.
