Tough Times Don’t Last, But Tough People Do

By: Jeremiah, Servant of the Living God

Tough times don’t last, but tough people do. So, it is better to go through the challenges and come out even stronger on the other side.

A time will come when people will regret that they treated you badly. That they disregarded you, abused you, cursed you, or made your life miserable. A time will come when you rise above them like Joseph and live up to the potential God put in you.

If you are faithful to God, run away from sin.

Pray.

Fast.

Stand.

Be strong.

Have faith.

Move forward.

You might be suffering because that is life. It is like an obstacle course that we must move through. But we get better because of it. We get stronger. We get wiser.

I remember what my wife went through in her life. She suffered a lot. She had many obstacles that God helped her through.

My Wife had Tough Times

She suffered from pain, illness, loss of her job, and being rejected and betrayed by family, and friends. She had her positions and possessions stolen. She was separated from her family and alone for years. She did not have winter clothes or jackets during winter.

She sacrificed a lot, but she relies on God a lot as well. OMG!

But that is her life, that is her journey. God is teaching her to fully rely on him. She’s a prophetess. God demands a lot of her and disciplines her.

So, she continues praying, fasting, and keeps moving.  Thank God. God is good and the people who treated her badly will regret all that they did.

Joseph had Tough Times

Joseph’s brethren treated him wrong, just because of his destiny and the greatness meant for his life, and they regretted it.

Genesis 50:15-21

15 When Joseph’s brothers saw that their father was dead, they said, “What if Joseph holds a grudge against us and pays us back for all the wrongs we did to him?”

16 So they sent word to Joseph, saying, “Your father left these instructions before he died:

17 ‘This is what you are to say to Joseph: I ask you to forgive your brothers the sins and the wrongs they committed in treating you so badly.’ Now please forgive the sins of the servants of the God of your father.” When their message came to him, Joseph wept.

18 His brothers then came and threw themselves down before him. “We are your slaves,” they said.

19 But Joseph said to them, “Don’t be afraid. Am I in the place of God?

20 You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good to accomplish what is now being done, the saving of many lives.

21 So then, don’t be afraid. I will provide for you and your children.” And he reassured them and spoke kindly to them.

He went through a tough time, and he came back well. He was a prosperous man, a faithful and trustworthy servant, and that came from his experience with difficulties and tough times.

Examine Your Life

So, when you are going through a tough time, please examine yourself.

Whether you are with God or not. Whether your tough times, and challenges are a test from God or it’s your sin that causes it.

Runaway from sin.

If Joseph had slept with Potiphar’s wife, he would’ve missed a lot of blessings in his life. His family would have suffered. Israel would have suffered.

No matter what you are going through in life, be faithful to God. Because you don’t know who God will send to deliver you from your tough times. You never know your destination at the end of all those challenges.

Because Joseph was faithful to God and to his employers, others saw his deeds along the way and recommended him. His faithfulness and obedience fostered the power God had inside of him.

That was why God gave him the power to interpret dreams. Even when he was in the most challenging situations.

Be Encouraged

God has not forgotten you. God can never forget his people or his servants. Remember if you are with him and faithful to him, He will be faithful to you.

God loves whoever loves him. Read proverbs 8:17-18.

Also, he talks to us through dreams and visions. Read Numbers 12: 5-9.

And remember, all things work together for good if you love God. Read Romans 8:1.

Joseph interpreted dreams that all the magicians of Egypt and all the wise men could not interpret. God gave him the power to interpret dreams. God used that to promote him.

If you want God to deliver you out of your tough time, challenges, and trouble, or to refresh your life; repent from your sin. Read Act of the Apostles 3:19.

If you have a good dream or vision, you must determine that your good dreams shall come to reality. Move closer to God. Be faithful. Trust him.

Be prayerful and fast because we are not fighting against flesh. It’s not a physical fight but a spiritual fight. Read Ephesians 6:10-17.

Keep moving forward and it shall be well with you. You are blessed in Jesus’ name.

Meditate on God’s Word

Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
