Dreams and Visions: 6 More Dreams and Visions in the Old Testament
By: Minister Denise N. Fyffe
Welcome Dreamer, here are six more dreams and visions in the Old Testament. These accounts reveal a deepening of how God uses dreams and visions to shape leadership, affirm calling, and unveil His presence.
In young Samuel’s night encounter, God initiates him as a prophet, marking a turning point in Israel’s spiritual direction. Solomon’s dream becomes the setting for his famous request for wisdom, a moment that defines his reign. Elijah’s experience—more a vision of divine intimacy than grandeur—underscores God’s quiet nearness during crisis.
Isaiah and Ezekiel are granted awe-inspiring visions of God’s glory and judgment, serving as the foundation for their prophetic ministries. Daniel’s dreams and interpretations offer sweeping insight into future kingdoms, affirming his role as a trusted servant in exile and as a bearer of apocalyptic revelation.
Together, these six moments show how divine visions empowered individuals to lead, discern, and speak with spiritual authority.
