Spiritual Warfare Drills #10: Memorize Scripture
By: Minister Denise N. Fyffe
So, why does armor matter?
The enemy fights with wiles—schemes, narratives, and negotiations designed to win your agreement. Armor keeps your identity anchored, your thinking guarded, your emotions stabilized, and your responses aligned with the Spirit. Unarmored enthusiasm is friendly fire to yourself; armored obedience is safety and strength.
Understand though that “Whole” means whole. Paul stresses the whole armor because each piece covers a different vulnerability. Truth steadies you, righteousness protects you, peace stabilizes you, faith shields you, salvation secures you, the Word arms you, and prayer sustains all of it. Leave one piece off and you expose a gate.
