Morning Meditation: Trust God and Trust in the Spirit of God
by Minister Denise N. Fyffe
There is nothing like waking up in the early morning hours and being cocooned in the stillness and peace that comes. The subtle light on the horizon. The thin connection to the spirit realm left from my dream and visions. Even the awareness that once again God has allowed me to eat of His mercies, which are new every morning. Though I am not an early bird, I do enjoy taking that time to connect with God. And, after getting morning prayers, dream interpretation and deep contemplations out of the way, I try to tap into God.
But this morning my mind was just a washed with every bit of worrisome thought. I surfed on the deep meanings behind my dreams and trekked into the deep recesses of my mind and memories. I clawed back to the present, pondering, “how do I treat with these persistent challenges?”
Above all, I wanted to center myself to hear what God had to say. So, I pushed aside every bothersome thought, did a little singing and later tried again.
Then a quick word came to my spirit.
I was thinking of the ministry and the directive that came about two years ago. God had said to focus more on the Revealing the Christian Life Ministry. And then with lightning speed, he reminded me of the growth and impact over that time.
Then, it came – “Trust God. Trust in the Spirit of God.”
Then, there was peace and the doubts fled.
There are times when worry and challenges in life will push you to forget all that God has done in the past. This happened to the Israelites when they left Egypt. They forgot that Yahweh had just sent 10 mighty devastating plagues on their oppressors which decimated their country and people (Exodus 7–12).
They forgot that God fed them with manna from heaven (Exodus 16:4, Exodus 16:15). They forgot that God parted the Red Sea (Exodus 14:21–22). They forgot all the great miracles that the Holy One of heaven had done on their behalf. And they slipped into the sea of forgetfulness and started being ungrateful. They started to turn to other things and worried about how they would survive the dessert or any nation who might rise up to kill them (Numbers 14:2–3).
Such is life. We are human that way.
But it takes the grace and favor of God to pull us out of that murky pit. He knows we will fall short, but He is patient enough and understands our human frailties. That is one of the reasons He sent His son Jesus Christ/Yeshua to die for us and grant us salvation.
God always provides a way out.
I know you are passing through challenges too. I know sometimes you may feel as if that job is too much and your boss is being vindictive and making your life hell.
I know you feel unseen in your relationship or unheard. I know you love that person but they keep abusing you and using you for what you can give to them.
I know you might not have enough money right now. You can hardly manage your bills and you have many mouths to feed.
I know you are sick. You are in pain and it has been a battle over many years. You are wondering whether you are cursed. You are wondering how you will survive. You are praying for God to simply take you from this life.
But don’t lose hope.
Trust God and Trust in the Spirit of God.
The enemy wants you to have doubts. The enemy wants you to be depressed and anxious about tomorrow. The enemy wants you to feel hopeless as if there is no way out of your situation. Believe me, there is a way out and it is Jesus Christ.
The battle is always more intense towards the end. Trust God for his deliverance. And for those of you who have not accepted Jesus Christ, I encourage you to seek Him.
Seek ye first the Kingdom of God.
It is only God who can overcome even your strongest enemy and your most devastating challenge in life. Let God command your morning. Let God command your life. Let God be your banner and shield.
Do not fear what the enemy can do. Do not fear what your boss can do. Do not fear the circumstances before your eyes. Do not fear the bills that keep pilling up in your mailbox or on your table. Do not fear.
Take charge. Move. Shift. Change.
Get down and pray to God.
Cry to Him.
Appeal to the throne of heaven.
Ask God to step into your life and manifest in a mighty way.
Let God command your life.
Be Encouraged
There is no greater feeling than the peace that comes with the reassurance of God. When worry tries to overtake you, remember the goodness of God. When you can’t sleep in the midnight, begin to sing and worship. When life seems too much, read the great testimonies in the bible of the awesomeness of Gods power and might.
Then, trust God and trust the Spirit of God.

- God parting the Red Sea:
- Exodus 14:21–22 (NKJV): “Then Moses stretched out his hand over the sea; and the LORD caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all that night, and made the sea into dry land, and the waters were divided. So the children of Israel went into the midst of the sea on the dry ground, and the waters were a wall to them on their right hand and on their left.”
- The Israelites worrying about survival in the desert and other nations:
- Numbers 14:2–3 (NKJV): “And all the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron, and the whole congregation said to them, ‘If only we had died in the land of Egypt! Or if only we had died in this wilderness! Why has the LORD brought us to this land to fall by the sword, that our wives and children should become victims? Would it not be better for us to return to Egypt?’”
- Exodus 16:2–3 (NKJV): “Then the whole congregation of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. And the children of Israel said to them, ‘Oh, that we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and when we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into this wilderness to kill this whole assembly with hunger.’”
I hope you find this word a blessing and that the Word of God works effectively in your life.
Be encouraged and stay blessed.
