The Christian Life with Colline: Don’t Run From the Task God Has Given You (Part 2)
By: Colline Goulbourne, Evangelizing Servant of God
Just like Jonah, God wants to use you in ways that may surprise you. His call on your life may seem bigger than you feel capable of handling, but you must remember — it is not about your power, but His.
Ephesians 2:10 reminds us:
“For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.”
Even before your existence, God planned your purpose. He has placed inside of you supernatural gifts waiting to burst forth for His glory.
Let Go and Let God
God is calling you to let go of your own will and let Him work through you.
-
Tell Him: “Lord, not my will, but Yours be done.”
-
Make yourself available for His purposes.
-
Trust that His strength is enough where your weakness is exposed.
Whether He is calling you to bring healing, deliverance, encouragement, or compassion to the poor and broken, know that He has already equipped you with everything you need through His Spirit.
Philippians 2:13 says:
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.”
Surrendering to His Power
Your task may not look like anyone else’s. It may stretch you. It may demand faith and obedience that you have never practiced before. But if you surrender, you will discover what has been inside of you all along.
-
Miraculous works will flow through you.
-
Compassion and boldness will rise within you.
-
The supernatural power of God will manifest in your ordinary life.
Do not resist Him. Instead, be willing to say:
“Here I am, Lord. Send me.” (Isaiah 6:8)
A Warning and a Promise
Jonah delayed God’s call, and it brought unnecessary hardship. Do not let disobedience place you under the weight of God’s discipline. Instead, walk in His plan willingly and joyfully.
Hebrews 10:36 reminds us:
“For you have need of endurance, so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.”
God’s wrath comes when we resist, but His glory and blessing come when we obey.
Encouragement for Today
Be encouraged! Whatever task God places before you today, know this: You are not alone. His Spirit is within you, His strength is available to you, and His glory will shine through you as you obey.
Be blessed!

Meditate on God’s Word
Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
