The Poet’s Prayer: A Cry for Mercy

Lord,
I am up this morning thinking about your divine goodness and mercy. I am thinking about those men and women in the bible who you called and saved. Those men and women who you showed mercy. Lord, show me mercy, I need your mercy. Father, I need its manifestation in my life. I need your favor and your mercy. I need your counsel and guidance. Lord, I need your Holy Spirit with me.
Many are trying to tear me down. But Father, I know you are the All-powerful One.
Did you not call me as a child? Did you not save me that faithful day? Did you not rise up and defend me so many times? Was it not your sword that cut off that serpent’s head? Is it not your army that march with me and goes where I go and encamp around me daily? Father, was it not your angels that saved me from my enemies?
Jesus, did I not see your beautiful face? Did I not feel your presence near me? Do I not know your voice? And have I not witnessed your power? Lord, are you not the Almighty One that reigns in heaven? Are you not the Creator of heaven and earth that sent me?
Lord, prove yourself to me God. Prove your power and lovingkindness to me. Speak your mercy over my life. Deliver me Lord. Deliver me today.
Lord God, me a beg yuh to do it one more time. Me tyad of all di issues, challenges, sickness, diseases, pain and pursuit of my enemies and trials that plague my life. Father, I need yuh strength and guidance one more time.
Lord, I am tired of the struggles of survival and going through the rigors of poverty. Examine my life, Lord. Is this what you called me to? Is this where you want me to be? Is this what you want me to be doing? Father, is this how you want people to be treating me? Lord, do you want my enemies to exercise their pleasure over me?
Lord, arise in the standard of your glory and defend my life God. Not for my sake, but for your word, for your call on my life, for that which you called me Father. Lord arise in the standard of your strength and crush my enemies. Oluwa arise. Baba arise. Yeshua arise!
Lord God Jehovah, hear my cries. You see my tears. You examine my heart. You know my plight. I sit in my bed taking comfort in nothing, shedding tears, and managing the groans of my spirit. God deliver me. Father deliver me. Lord God of heaven and earth, deliver me.
How long will I suffer under the desires of my enemies and foolish men? How long will I suffer their injustice and immoralities? Put them in fear Lord, so that the nations may know themselves to be but men. Put my enemies and evil principalities in fear, so that they know there is a responsive God in heaven. Put them in fear, so that their strongholds will never rise again.
Lord, deliver me from evil men. Deliver me from sin. Deliver me from temptation. Deliver me from the curse of my mother’s house and from my father’s house. Deliver me from rebuke and shame. Deliver me Lord today.
Father, I know with the breath of your nostrils, with the thought from your mind, with one word from your lips my life can be changed. Deliver me Lord today.
I declare and decree great is your mercy towards me Lord. Your tender mercy is with me today. Your favor washes over me and lifts me above my enemies. Great is your mercy towards me Lord. Your tender mercy is with me today.
All this and more I ask in the matchless name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth.
Amen, amen, amin.
