The Christian Life with Colline: Why Try to Rush Out of What God Wants to Use for Your Blessings and Favors? Part 1
By: Colline Goulbourne, Evangelizing Servant of God
Be Encouraged in the Process. Why are we so eager to rush out of our struggles? Why do we pray so quickly for deliverance, before asking the Lord, “Father, is this Your will? If so, let Your purpose be fulfilled through it”? Many times, the very situation we are begging God to remove is the very thing He wants to use—to bless us, to favor us, and to shape us for His glory.
“My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.”
— James 1:2–3 NKJV
God’s glory is often revealed through pressure, through trials, and even through pain. Sometimes we are in such a hurry to escape, that we risk interfering with the divine process God is using to build our testimony.
Don’t Be Hasty — There’s Purpose in the Pain
Yes, the trials may be:
- Hurtful
- Painful
- Unbearable
- Unfair
- Rough and tough
But don’t rush out of it. God may be walking you through the fire, not to burn you, but to refine you.
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you.” — Isaiah 43:2 NKJV
Before trying to escape, seek God in prayer and ask: “Father, if it is Your will, let it be done in this situation. Give me the strength to endure it and come out victorious for Your glory.”
What You’re Asking God to Remove May Be Your Blessing
Sometimes, the very thing we’re praying to be removed is the instrument God wants to use to bless us and favor us.
So we must change our prayers and shift our perspective. Instead of always asking God to remove the trial, ask Him to reveal His will through it. Ask for strength, endurance, and clarity. That’s where growth happens. That’s where transformation is birthed.
“And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” — Romans 8:28 NKJV
There’s a Purpose in Your Trials
Yes, some things in life feel so unbearable—we face addictions, sickness, deep struggles, or regretful sin. But remember:
“He gives power to the weak, And to those who have no might He increases strength.” — Isaiah 40:29 NKJV
We may feel too broken to go on. But it is in our weakness that God shows His strength. Don’t wait until you “fix” everything in your life before coming to God. You can’t fix it alone. Only He can.
Stop Believing the Lie That You’re Too Far Gone
Some may think:
“I’ve sinned too deeply.”
“God doesn’t love me anymore.”
“I need to clean myself up first.”
That’s a lie from the pit of hell.
“He Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you nor forsake you.’” — Hebrews 13:5b NKJV
God wants you to come just as you are. He is ready to forgive, heal, and restore you. You don’t need to carry your burden alone. He is waiting to embrace you, just like the father welcomed the prodigal son.
Final Encouragement
Sometimes we mess things up more by trying to fix them on our own. But if we surrender it all to Jesus, He will bring change and clarity.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;
In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.” — Proverbs 3:5–6 NKJV
Your trial has purpose. Your pain is not wasted.
Let God walk you through it, so you can come out refined, favored, and blessed. Don’t rush the process. Let His perfect plan unfold. Blessings and Favors are your portion — in Jesus’ mighty name. Amen.
Be blessed!

Meditate on God’s Word
Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
