The Christian Life with Colline: No One is Perfect – But You Can Choose Righteousness (Part 2)
By: Colline Goulbourne, Evangelizing Servant of God
As I listened to the pastor preach about David, Paul, Solomon, and others in the Bible, one thing stood out clearly: None of them stayed the same after encountering God.
Yes, they had sinful pasts—David committed adultery and murder, Paul persecuted Christians, and Solomon fell into idolatry. But when they came into contact with Almighty God, they changed. They didn’t remain in their sin or make excuses by saying “No one is perfect.” Instead, they chose to repent, to seek God’s face, and to walk in righteousness.
“Repent, and turn from all your transgressions, so that iniquity will not be your ruin.”— Ezekiel 18:30 NKJV
They made a decision to change. They chose to stop walking in sin and start living in a way that pleased God.
Are You Pleasing God or Satan?
Let’s be honest: If you’re not pleasing God, you’re pleasing Satan. There’s no middle ground. The life you live now determines where you’re headed.
“Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap.”— Galatians 6:7 NKJV
Too many people stay stuck in sin because they believe the lie that they’re “not perfect.” But remember—those men in the Bible are examples that God’s grace and mercy are available to everyone, no matter how deep the sin.
“Come now, and let us reason together,” says the Lord, “Though your sins are like scarlet,
They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.” — Isaiah 1:18 NKJV
The Prodigal Son: A Picture of Redemption
Think of the story of the Prodigal Son. He left his father’s house, wasted his life, and ended up broken and alone. But when he finally came to himself and decided to return, the father ran to meet him with love, mercy, and open arms.
“But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.”— Luke 15:20 NKJV
That’s the same way God receives us when we turn from sin. No matter how far you’ve gone, no matter how long you’ve been away—He is waiting to welcome you back.
Surrender Your Heart Today
Before you close your eyes tonight, make the most important decision of your life: Surrender your heart to Jesus. Accept Him as your personal Lord and Savior. He will wash away your sins and set you free from every chain of bondage.
“Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”— John 8:36 NKJV
You are nothing without Jesus. He is your peace, your joy, your hope, and your salvation.
“Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”— Acts 4:12 NKJV
Choose Holiness and Eternal Life
God is holy, and He calls you to live a holy life.
“Because it is written, ‘Be holy, for I am holy.’”— 1 Peter 1:16 NKJV
Choose righteousness over sin. Choose life over destruction. Choose Jesus and live for eternity.

Meditate on God’s Word
Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
