Dreams and Visions: Prophetic Leadership and Having the Power of Release in Corporate Gatherings
By: Minister Denise N. FyffeIn one of my dreams, I found myself standing on a stage before a large crowd. Another person was speaking but taking long to release the people. When I stepped forward and declared, “Let’s get stuff done and let’s be going,” the crowd erupted in cheers. In that moment, I recognized something powerful: sometimes the prophetic anointing is about knowing when it’s time to release people into their next season.
The Role of Prophetic Leadership
Prophetic leadership is not just about foretelling the future—it’s about rightly discerning the times and seasons for God’s people. Ecclesiastes 3:1 reminds us:“To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven.”The one who delays unnecessarily can burden God’s people, while the one who discerns rightly can unlock fresh movement. In this dream, stepping forward to speak represented the prophetic leader’s role in sensing when God is saying, “It’s time to move forward.”
The Authority of Words
The crowd’s reaction—cheering and agreeing—underscored the biblical principle that words carry authority. Proverbs 18:21 declares:“Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.”When words are aligned with God’s timing, they ignite faith and release people from stagnation. Notice that I didn’t deliver a lengthy sermon—just a decisive declaration. Sometimes, in the Spirit, brevity has greater authority than abundance of words.
Releasing Others is Prophetic Ministry
The prophetic ministry is not about holding people bound to us but releasing them to God’s purposes. Jesus modeled this in John 8:36:“Therefore, if the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed.”When a leader holds too long, the people remain tied to their delay. When a prophetic leader speaks release, the people step into freedom.
Lessons for Today’s Believer
- Discern God’s Timing – Don’t hold onto people or situations longer than God intends. Release when the Spirit says release.
- Speak with Authority – Declare what Heaven is saying, even if it’s just a few words.
- Release, Don’t Control – True leadership is measured by how you empower others to move forward.
- Encourage Movement – Sometimes God’s people just need one voice of faith to break the hesitation.
The Takeaway
This dream was a reminder that prophetic leadership is about discerning the right time to say, “Let’s get going.” There is power in release. There is breakthrough in timely words. And there is freedom in prophetic voices that align with God’s heart. As you walk in your journey, ask the Lord to give you discernment in your own leadership moments—whether in your home, ministry, or workplace. May your words release others into their destiny, bringing glory to God and freedom to His people. Note: Your dream can also have a different meaning – unique to you. Therefore, examine the other symbols, characters, and current situation in your life.
