The Christian Life with Colline: Don’t Stop Your Child from Baptizing and Serving Almighty God (Part 1)
By: Colline Goulbourne, Evangelizing Servant of God
As I listened to a young girl singing a worship song yesterday, the Holy Spirit spoke strongly in my spirit to encourage you with this message. God is saying He is using children more and more in this season to carry out His plans for His glory. They are often more obedient, more humble, more submissive, and more sensitive to His presence than adults.
Jesus said in Matthew 19:14 (NKJV):
“Let the little children come to Me, and do not forbid them; for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
God is leading His little ones to Himself. This is not random—these children have been chosen, just as He chose Samuel in the Bible, to serve and minister even at a young age. God warns that anyone who prevents His children from coming to Him or serving Him will face His displeasure. He is their heavenly Father and loves them dearly.
Interfering with God’s Plan
When a child makes the decision to be baptized and serve the Lord—even at a young age—parents must be careful not to stand in the way. God says that interfering in His plan for a child is “troubling His business,” and He will hold parents or anyone accountable who blocks His purpose.
Many parents respond, “They are not ready.” But when will they be ready? Tomorrow is not promised to any of us. Look at the world today: children go missing, children die unexpectedly, and the enemy is targeting them to destroy God’s purpose in their lives.
Jeremiah 1:5 (NKJV) reminds us:
“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; before you were born I sanctified you; I ordained you a prophet to the nations.”
The same God who created Moses, Joseph, Ruth, Esther, and David created your child with a purpose—and that purpose includes saving, protecting, and blessing others, even you as their parent.
Recognizing the Enemy’s Strategy
Satan wants to stop children from baptism and service to God because he knows their obedience will destroy his plans. If that child starts walking with God, the enemy’s schemes will be defeated. As parents, guardians, and adults, we must stop saying they are too young and instead see things from God’s perspective.
Pray as Hannah prayed over Samuel in 1 Samuel 1:27-28 (NKJV):
“For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition which I asked of Him. Therefore I also have lent him to the Lord; as long as he lives he shall be lent to the Lord.”
A Parent’s Commitment Prayer
Pray this with me:
“Lord, You have given me this child, and I give this child back to You. Have Your way in him/her as You did in Samuel. Use them as You desire. I will not hinder, prevent, or interfere with Your plans for their life. I will support and guide them according to Your will, as they make the best and most important decision a child can ever make—to serve You. Take full control of their life as they worship You in spirit and in truth. Mold them in Your image and use them for Your glory, in Jesus’ name, Amen.”
Encouragement to Parents
God has blessed you with your child, but before they were yours, they were His. He had a plan for them before they ever existed. Do not interfere with His business. Instead, pray, support, and release them into His hands.
As you do this, you will see God use your child in ways that will astonish you—just as He used little Samuel. And your child will not only find their purpose but may even be the very one God uses to bless and protect your family and your nation.
Be encouraged, support your children’s spiritual choices, and trust God’s plan for their lives.
Be blessed!

Meditate on God’s Word
Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
