Daily Christian Journal: Dear You Letter

The Life of a 21st Century Prophet

Dear You,

Yea you, the one reading this message.

Why do you do the things you do?

Why are you here? Why are you living in this moment? Why are you visiting the places you do or live and work in the job that you have?

Have you ever stopped and wondered?

Have you ever considered how your actions impact others? Or don’t you care? Have you ever looked back and glimpsed the scene of mass destruction that you left behind?

Oh, you don’t care about that either?

Do you know that you affect others?

Do you know that the words that you say, the things that you do, the ways in which you treat others and how you respond to people leaves an impression?

Yes, they do.

Have you been kind recently? Have you told someone you loved them, even with the love of the Lord? Or is it that you don’t care about anyone except your husband and kids? Or that one best friend that treats you better than you treat them?

Is it that you don’t care whether everyone else sleeps in a bed, has food to eat or is comfortable?

Do you gripe and complain about everything in sight? Or are you thankful for food, clothing, shelter, water, life or your next breath?

Think about it.

Are you a walking Hiroshima?

When you move through this earth and have moved to the great beyond, what will people say you left behind?

When time examine your trails, what will it see? Blood, broken hearts, tears, disappointment, indifference, meanness, envy, hate, malice, jealous?

Or will it see love, kindness, compassion, greatness or any of the gifts that abounds from being a selfless child of God?

Take some time and consider whether who you consider yourself to be, is who people see you as. Think about whether you are leaving a forgettable memory or an indestructible dynasty.

Will people say you were a true child of God or will they say you were a contradicting example of the Faith, a hypocrite?

Dear You, stop and think.

Who were you today?
