Sometimes you got to move to grow.
If you find that life is not happening for you and opportunities are not coming – sometimes you got to move to grow.
If you find that your blessings and wellsprings are drying up – sometimes you got to move to grow and flourish.
If you find that people are fighting you for the rights to the ‘well’ that you dig – just like Isaac – sometimes you got to move to grow.
Read Genesis 26:18-26:
18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them.
19 Also Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there. 20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, because they quarreled with him. 21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name Sitnah. 22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the Lord has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”
23 Then he went up from there to Beersheba. 24 And the Lord appeared to him the same night and said, “I am the God of your father Abraham; do not fear, for I am with you. I will bless you and multiply your descendants for My servant Abraham’s sake.” 25 So he built an altar there and called on the name of the Lord, and he pitched his tent there; and there Isaac’s servants dug a well.
26 Then Abimelech came to him from Gerar with Ahuzzath, one of his friends, and Phichol the commander of his army.
God is faithful to do more than you can ever ask or imagine. He allows disruptors to come and disturb your life to agitate you into moving into your Eden – where you will grow and flourish and be prosperous.
Don’t be afraid to take up your family or yourself and go. Just as he did with Abraham. Move out through the valleys, up the mountains and through desserts.
If God could feed the Israelites manna from heaven in the desert; He sure can feed you anywhere you are on this earth. He will even use your enemies to feed you.
So remember, sometimes you got to move to grow.
Meditate on God’s Word
Many Christians struggle daily to live according to God’s word. But we need daily nourishment. That is why it is important to read your bible daily; even if it is a few verses and meditate on them.
Today, read Genesis 26, especially verse 18 to 26, and get a copy of the daily devotional Be Encouraged.
